A handcrafted mermaid takes shape in wood, painted and UV-coated so it holds its color on a shaded porch or an open entryway. Made in the USA and finished with wall-mounting hardware, it hangs on a door, a window, or a mantel with equal ease. The coastal motif carries the piece well past the holidays into everyday seaside decor.
What Makes It Special
- Indoor and outdoor ready — A UV-coated finish protects the paint and wood against sun and weather, so it stays true whether it hangs inside or out.
- Ready to hang — Wall-mounting hardware comes attached, so the piece is ready for a door, window, or mantel straight out of the box.
- Handcrafted in the USA — Each mermaid is shaped and painted by hand in the DeBrekht studio tradition, so no two pieces are exactly alike.
- A collectible gift — Doubles as a door hanger, window decor, or wall mantelpiece, making it a versatile present for a coastal home.

Wood Care
- Clean with mild soap and warm water. Scrub gently along the grain with a soft bristle brush.
- Apply teak oil or wood sealant once or twice a year to maintain the warm golden color.
- If left untreated, the wood will naturally weather to a beautiful silver-gray patina — this is normal and does not affect durability.
- Sand lightly with fine-grit sandpaper before re-oiling to restore the original finish.
General Care
- Clean regularly with mild soap and warm water.
- Cover or store during extreme weather to extend lifespan.
- Inspect hardware connections seasonally and tighten as needed.
Following these care guidelines will help your Coastal Standard furniture look beautiful for years to come.
Weatherproof wood
Solid wood is UV-coated to resist fading and moisture, letting the mermaid live indoors or out without losing its finish.
Versatile display
Use it as a door hanger, window accent, or decorative wall mantelpiece — an all-around collectible that moves with your seasons.
Hand-finished detail
