Each bowl is turned by hand from a single piece of African olivewood, so no two share the same grain. A band of cow bone inlay traces the rim, catching the light against the wood's warm brown tones. It moves easily from a bowl of fruit on the counter to salad at the table.
What Makes It Special
- Single-piece olivewood — Turned from one block of dense African olive wood with the natural grain left to show.
- Cow bone inlay — A hand-set band of cow bone rings the rim for a quiet, crafted contrast.
- Hand wash only — Wash by hand and dry right away to protect the wood and inlay.
- Four diameters — Choose 8, 10, 12, or 14 inches to suit fruit, sides, or a full salad.
- One-of-a-kind grain — Handmade construction means every bowl carries its own pattern and color depth.

Wood Care
- Clean with mild soap and warm water. Scrub gently along the grain with a soft bristle brush.
- Apply teak oil or wood sealant once or twice a year to maintain the warm golden color.
- If left untreated, the wood will naturally weather to a beautiful silver-gray patina — this is normal and does not affect durability.
- Sand lightly with fine-grit sandpaper before re-oiling to restore the original finish.
General Care
- Clean regularly with mild soap and warm water.
- Cover or store during extreme weather to extend lifespan.
- Inspect hardware connections seasonally and tighten as needed.
Following these care guidelines will help your Coastal Standard furniture look beautiful for years to come.
Handcrafted in Africa
Carved and finished by hand from solid olive wood, giving each bowl its own character and a substantial feel in the hand.
Bone-inlay detail
A rim of cow bone inlay adds a refined, ethnic-African accent that reads as decor as much as tableware.
Made to last
A periodic rub of olive oil restores the finish and keeps the grain deep and lustrous for years.
