Built from heat-treated cedar, this sandbox holds up to seasons of digging, rain, and sun. Its split cover unfolds into two benches, so the same footprint shifts from a shaded sandpit to seating for the crew. A built-in screen drains moisture into the ground while keeping the sand where it belongs.
What Makes It Special
- Heat-treated cedar — Durable, weather-tolerant wood that keeps the frame solid through repeated outdoor use.
- Cover folds into two benches — The split lid opens into a pair of benches that seat up to 4 children or 2 adults.
- Draining sand screen — A built-in screen keeps sand in the play area while letting rain and moisture drain into the ground.
- Covered between play sessions — Close the split cover to keep the sand shaded and shielded when the digging is done.

Wood Care
- Clean with mild soap and warm water. Scrub gently along the grain with a soft bristle brush.
- Apply teak oil or wood sealant once or twice a year to maintain the warm golden color.
- If left untreated, the wood will naturally weather to a beautiful silver-gray patina — this is normal and does not affect durability.
- Sand lightly with fine-grit sandpaper before re-oiling to restore the original finish.
General Care
- Clean regularly with mild soap and warm water.
- Cover or store during extreme weather to extend lifespan.
- Inspect hardware connections seasonally and tighten as needed.
Following these care guidelines will help your Coastal Standard furniture look beautiful for years to come.
